Homebase is a home screen app for Google TV. This policy explains what data it uses and where that data goes. In short: it stays on your TV.
Data Homebase accesses
-
Google account (optional). With your permission, Homebase requests
the
youtube.readonlyscope and your email address. It uses them to show your liked YouTube videos and your YouTube playlists on the home screen, and to label which account is linked to a profile. - Plex account (optional). Homebase uses a Plex sign-in token to show what you're watching, recently added items and recently played music from your own Plex Media Server.
- Installed apps. Homebase lists the apps installed on your TV so you can open them.
How the data is stored
Sign-in tokens, profile names and settings are stored only on your TV, in a file encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore. Homebase has no servers, so none of this data is sent to the developer or to anyone else.
Who Homebase talks to
Homebase connects only to Google (sign-in and the YouTube Data API), plex.tv, and your own Plex servers. These connections are made directly from your TV to fetch what appears on your home screen. Homebase contains no analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking code.
Sharing
Homebase does not sell, share or transfer your data to anyone. It does not use data from Google APIs for advertising, and it does not use that data to train AI or machine learning models.
Homebase's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing your data
- Unlink an account in Homebase under Settings › Edit profile, or delete the profile.
- Uninstalling Homebase deletes everything it stored.
- You can also revoke Homebase's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
